2009-2010 All-State

Messages from
Mr. Galloway:
 The
band earned 144 medals total at UIL Solo and
Ensemble. All the judges were impressed with
the CHS Band students and the HS Band Staff is very
proud of everyone who competed. All students
were very professional and courteous and represented
themselves as great musicians and young adults no
matter the outcome. I think it was a great
learning experience for all of the students.
 The
color guard won their round of 9 at the WGI Dallas
Regional and made finals and then earned 4th place
in finals for their highest placing ever at a WGI
event. The guard currently has the highest
score in the Texas Color Guard Circuit Scholastic A
classes. Way to go, Guard!!

Congratulations to
the
students who placed into the All-Region and/or
All-District/Freshman Region Bands. Clements
had the most students place in the entire music
region. We also had the most students place in
Area; these students will compete to be part of the
Texas All-State Band in January.

Some interesting Region Band statistics: 33
tried out for Freshman Region and 22 placed.
For HS Region, 89 tried out and 69 placed. In
total, 112 students went to region tryouts (10
tried out for both HS and Freshman Region) and
90 of them made it into one of the four bands.
WOW!!! Finally, 32 students made Area,
including 5 Freshman!!! |
