To all the students,
family, and friends who donated and attended our 2009
Rock-a-thon, thank you for your support and making this event so
popular and successful. And to all the parents who helped out by
donating their time and energy by manning a station, making
rounds with coffee and food, and working on Mums, Thank You!
Without your help and support, this event would not be possible.
Thank you for helping to get our 2009-10 season off to a great
start! Now, on to our next event, our first football game. We
are looking forward to seeing you there! And don't forget our
first Booster Club meeting of the year, coming up on Tuesday,
Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. in the band hall. Come find out what the
latest news is.
Note from the Booster Club President
Thank you to everyone who contributed to and helped out with
the TAKS Teachers Breakfast on Friday morning. We have received
many compliments and thank you 's from the teachers and staff at
Clements. They are all very appreciative and think our booster
parents are great. We could not have done it without you.
It is hard to believe the month of May is already upon us and
the end of the year is fast approaching. At the beginning of
August Marching Camp, it always seems that the year will stretch
on endlessly, but before we know it, May comes around again. It
has been a busy, but also fun and successful year for the Band
and Color Guard. I have been honored and proud to be the
president of the Booster Club this year as we have worked hard
to support the activities of all our students and directors. At
this time I would like to express my sincere thanks to the
directors for the fine program they have run this year. It has
been a pleasure to work with you. And my appreciation goes to
all the parents who have stepped in and helped us out through
the year in many different capacities. Thank you all so much for
your help.
We have a few more activities before the year ends, starting
with the final Booster Club meeting for this year where we will
be voting on the officers and committees for next year, and also
hearing the latest in what is in store for next year - you won't
want to miss that! Other dates to save coming up are the
Percussion Concert on Thursday, May 21 at the CHS auditorium,
the Spring Concert at HBU on Tuesday, May 26, and our End of
Year Banquet on Saturday, May 30 at 6 p.m. Seniors and Senior
Parents, please make sure you get your baby/Senior picture in to
Mrs. Mosher so you can be included in the Senior salute. More
information on tickets for both the Spring Concert and the
Banquet will be coming out soon.
Thanks
Lorraine

Color Guard celebrates great strides at WGI Nationals in
Dayton - the CHS "A" Guard team completed their first
trip to Nationals with a top-30 finish, and are National
Semifinalists! They came in 7th in their division, just
out of finals position. What a great effort for a young
and enthusiastic group ! Congratulations! |

Both guards competed in the State Finals
this past weekend at the Berry Center and once again, made
Clements High School proud! The B guard finished 10th in their
division while the A guard took 2nd place in the Scholastic A
division! Congratulations to all the girls! While the season
has ended for the B guard, the A guard has one big competition
left....they leave for the WGI National Competition in Dayton,
Ohio this Wednesday. Good Luck to the Varsity Guard - We know
you will make Clements proud
Thanks to everyone who helped us out on our Dallas trip! The
trip was a success because of your efforts! Despite the blustery
weather, everyone had a good time. Listening to the Bands play
in the Meyerson was awesome. Thanks to the Directors for a
wonderful music program.
I would like to express my gratitude to all the parent
volunteers who helped make this year's Showcase dinner
and Silent Auction a great success! By all reports, this
year's Showcase event was a hit, with great food, great
music and performances, and great auction items. Big
thanks to El Vaquero in Missouri City for our
dee-li-cious fajita dinner and the following people who
helped pull this activity together: Namita Asthana for
coordinating the food, Silvia Amsel for help with
drinks, Donna Romaine for dessert, plus Maureen Ambrocik,
Nina Desai, Shara Preston, Norma Pharr, and Cheryl
Coulthard for their invaluable help getting the auction
rolling and helping out that night. And to all the
parents who volunteered to man a station during the
dinner and auction: your help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Announcements for 2007-2008 Season:
9/05/2008: We have our first football game of the season under
our belts. Thank you everyone who turned out at Hall Stadium to
watch some football, cheer on the team, and watch our great
kids. I hope everyone had as much fun watching and listening to
the Band and Color Guard perform as I did. Everything went well
for our first outing, with very few hitches. All our new
students and families have now been initiated into the ritual of
Texas high school football. If you are one of our new families,
I'd like to invite you to join us at the next game, and sit down
near the band. It's great fun, you get to meet great people, and
we get to watch our kids play groovy music and have fun.
A great big THANK YOU to all of the volunteers who turned out to
help us get ready at the school, loading Gatorades, helping in
the "feed zone", chaperoning on the buses, and at the stadium
with the plumes and percussion equipment (fondly known as the
"Pit"). As you can see, it takes a large number of enthusiastic
parents to get our Band and Color Guard actually in the stadium
and out on the field to perform. If you haven't had a chance
yet, please consider joining us in this great endeavor. All our
efforts go towards supporting our great kids and our great
directors. It looks like they have given us a very enjoyable
show to watch this year. I am looking forward to seeing what new
sets and maneuvers they have in store for us the next time
(wasn't that jazz run the coolest thing?) . As always, if you
have any questions or would like to get involved, please contact
any Booster Club board member or the Directors (see Contacts for
links).
